No-spend streak
Track consecutive days without discretionary spending on the Dashboard.
The no-spend streak counts how many days in a row you avoided discretionary spending — takeout, shopping, entertainment, and similar. Essentials like rent, utilities, and groceries do not break the streak unless you mark those categories as discretionary.
Turn it on
- Settings → General → Preferences
- Enable Track no-spend streak
Or tap the streak chip on the Dashboard and turn tracking on in the rules sheet.
Dashboard chip
When tracking is enabled, a flame chip shows your current streak (number of days). Tap it to open rules:
| State | What you see |
|---|---|
| Active streak | Day count — e.g. 5 days |
| Paused | Spending yesterday or today in a discretionary category paused the streak |
Choose discretionary categories
In the rules sheet:
- Toggle Track no-spend streak
- Under Discretionary categories, select categories that count as “spending that breaks the streak”
If you select none, the app excludes common essentials automatically (rent, utilities, groceries, etc.).
Spending in a selected category pauses the streak for that day — it does not reset your history permanently; the count restarts when you have a full no-spend day again.
How days are counted
- Based on expense entries on your device (and synced data when cloud sync is on)
- Income and transfers do not affect the streak
- Only categories you treat as discretionary (or the default essentials rule) matter
Cloud sync
Streak settings can sync across devices when you are signed in with cloud sync enabled.
