Reset the app
Erase local data and start fresh — export first if you need a copy.
Reset app wipes data on this device — transactions, budgets, categories, app lock, notification preferences, and more. Use it when selling a phone or starting completely over.
Before you reset
Reset cannot be undone. Export anything you need first.
- Settings → Data
- Use Export encrypted backup, JSON, or CSV
- Store the file somewhere safe (not only on this phone)
See Backup & export.
Start reset
- Settings → Data
- Scroll to Reset app
- Read what will be cleared
- Type RESET when asked
- Check I understand this cannot be undone and I have exported anything I need
- Confirm
A progress screen runs while data is removed.
What reset clears (typical)
| Removed | Notes |
|---|---|
| Transactions, budgets, schedules | All local financial history |
| Categories, tags, wallets (local) | Custom setup |
| PIN / app lock settings | Set up again after reset |
| Notification preferences | Re-enable in Alerts |
| Consent choices | Banner may appear again |
Cloud account
If you are signed in with cloud sync:
- Reset clears this device
- Server copy may remain until you delete entries or delete account
- After reset, sync might re-download cloud data — sign out first if you want a truly empty start
After reset
The app behaves like a fresh install — privacy checkup, default categories, and empty Dashboard.
To restore: Import your backup or sign in and sync from cloud.
Reset vs delete account
| Action | Device | Server account |
|---|---|---|
| Reset app | Cleared | Still exists if signed in |
| Delete account | May sign out after | Removed per policy |
