Shared household explained
Partner ledger with shared or private expenses.
A household lets partners (or family) share a cloud ledger with per-expense shared or private visibility. Everyone signed in sees shared entries; private entries stay visible only to the person who logged them.
What household is good for
- Groceries and rent you both care about
- Shared bills with clear visibility rules
- Optional E2EE so shared amounts stay encrypted on the server
What household is not
- Not a replacement for buddy IOUs at a restaurant with friends
- Not automatic bill payment or bank sync—still manual entry
Common mistakes
- Using household for roommate IOUs — Roommates often need split groups and settle-up, not partner household.
- Marking everything shared — Use private for gifts, personal care, or sensitive purchases.
- Skipping cloud sync — Household requires sign-in and sync; guest-only devices cannot join.
